Not that any other issue is different, but I am excited about this one because it is a celebration of the Women of BrothaOnline Magazine. This is the issue where our women readers can identify and engulf themselves within the commentary. Every element, explanation and essay is tailored to her very nature, needs and notions.
As men, we recognize and do not deny that strong women are needed in our life. Some of us may have previewed this truth by the values and beliefs that our mothers have hopefully branded within us. Furthermore, we have seen the greatness of women in our classrooms, pulpits, offices, and many other professions including entertainment and athletics. All of these women have exemplified a level of excellence second to none. For this reason, many call them role models and mentors. Even as we celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial on the Washington, DC Mall, we’re reminded of a woman, by the name of Rosa Parks, who brought national attention to the civil rights movement. Whether we admit it or not, women are very instrumental and essential to the development of the male species for other reasons besides giving birth.
I challenge my fellow brethren to also read this issue of BrothaOnline. As women have been able to learn so much from reading about the topics and ideals important to men, there is a plethora of information that brothers will be able to deem from this issue. Let us be able to say at the end that we are a better world and a better people because we were able to learn from one another.
