As we present this, Brotha’s first issue of 2014, we wish to extend to all of you the readers and fans of the magazine, Happy New Year!!!! It is my sincere prayer that this year has begun as a new slate. For all of us who may have ended 2013 or began 2014 in struggle, turmoil, or uncertainty, I encourage you to take on the spirit of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13 & 14 -- "forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
We’ve reached our 4th year anniversary for Brotha Online Magazine and in a few months I will turn 40 years old. Brotha Magazine and I have grown together over the past 4 years. We are wiser, stronger, and becoming better. I fully comprehend the importance of this ministry and I am humbled to guide its direction to maximal potential. Anyone who knows me understands that I give just as much as I require from anyone committed to the Brotha Online ministry vision.
Words could never describe the exhilaration and excitement I have for this issue. Coupled with the fact this is our Anniversary issue, we are addressing some fantastic topics from Trayvon Martin to Spiritual Maturity to Relationships. Our cover stories and features range from Kirk Franklin to love & money expert Kenny Pugh with articles on Pastor Edward Weston, worship leader V. George Smith, and Kingdom Kidz founder Joshua Head. These interviews will change the way you view ministry, worship and the way we as godly men, maintain from day to day.
Special thanks to Cyrus Webb of Shadow Play Entertainment, Phillip Carter of SOV Ministries, Pastor Jeffrey Smith of Strong Tower Ministries, Kenny Pugh, Roland Hairston of Gospel Today, Poet Detrick Hughes and singer/songwriter Antonio Neal (My Big Bro) for their support and friendship. These brothas have been a source of support when I needed it most. I appreciate you immensely for making yourselves available with your advice and counsel.
Lastly, this anniversary issue is dedicated my brothers: Andre “Shep”, Vincent, Arthur, Jason, and Stephen. The love I have for them and the support they give me is unparalleled. I am honored and blessed to be one of the “Clark Brothers”. To the readers of Brotha Online Magazine; your support of this ministry on a daily basis overwhelms me. The emails, Facebook messages, instant messages, and calls to the office continue to blow me away. Like the songs says, “If I can just help somebody, then my living shall not be in vain.”
I pray as always this issue connects, empowers, inspires, and ministers to you. God Bless and keep you!
Yours in Christ,
