open roadOne thing I enjoy is jumping in my car on sunny day, turning on some good music and just cruising on the open road. No specific destination, just enjoying the ride and the music. For me it’s relaxing and it’s comfortable. I feel free and peaceful.

Another thing that makes me feel free and peaceful is when I worship God and get lost in adoration towards him. My worship is a personal time where it just him and me. There are no rules. It is truly a flow. Sometimes there is music and sometimes there is complete silence. It is just I lying before God and I’m praying, singing, or simply just being still and listening to God.  Worship allows me to completely free my mind and talk, pray, listen, and commune with God.

When I worship, I get a better understanding of myself. Many times I have to just unplug from the world. We are always connected to so many people through cell phones, Facebook, Twitter and other means, but sometimes it is absolutely necessary to take a break, unplug and reconnect to the ultimate source. This connection for me has to be daily.

I see and hear so many things. There is always somebody in my ear, giving his or her opinion, pulling me from left to right, and wanting me to give of my time and myself. That is fine for the most part, however in order for me to maintain the true essence of myself I have to connect to God. Knowing God allows me to know myself. Who knows me better than the one who created me?

Jeremiah 1:5 states “ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to nations.” God knew Jeremiah before he was born. That in itself is amazing. God already knows you and all that you are capable of and has gifted each and everyone of us according to his call and purpose. Like Romans 11:29 says “For the gifts and call of God [are] without repentance. God did not make a mistake when he gifted you and the gifts that the he has given he will never take away.

Connection with God is essential for us all. Conversation with God through prayer and worship allows us to hear from God and receive guidance and vision from our lives. This connection allows for us to know ourselves and also challenge ourselves, expand our faith and grow spiritually which effects every other aspect our lives.

Conversation with God builds our personal relationship with God, which enhances fellowship with him and others while strengthening our stewardship to the call and purpose that he has for our lives. Knowing God and his power unlocks the power and dominion that we have inherited from him as his children to conquer and overcome all fears and obstacles. With this relationship and connection to God and his power we are empowered and prompted to improve and through our personal improvement, there is a positive effect that ultimately enhances God’s kingdom.

Through our connection with God we have a greater sense of being that transcends into all other relationships (personal, business, etc.) and allows for more sensitivity to God’s presence and movement in our life. So as awesome and comforting worship is, it is essential to unplug from the world and plug into the ultimate source of our joy, strength, wisdom, and power. We have to constantly connect to God so that we are constantly, recharged, refreshed, and renewed. The great thing about it is that we can connect anytime and anyplace.
